Jakarta (ANTARA) - BPJS Kesehatan has stated that the SATUSEHAT\nElectronic Medical Record (EMR) strengthens value-based financing.\nConsequently, the agency has responded positively to the launch of this\necosystem and supports its integration with Mobile JKN to ensure a more\nefficient claims process.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis supports the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. As a\nresult, patients undergoing treatment will not need to repeat\nexaminations, allowing diagnoses to be determined immediately. Most\nimportantly, the financing process claimed by hospitals to BPJS will\nbecome easier,\u201d said the President Director of BPJS Kesehatan, Prihati\nPujowaskito.<\/p>\n
During the launch of SATUSEHAT EMR in Jakarta on Tuesday, he noted\nthat current collaborations encompass 3,200 hospitals and 23,000\nclinics.<\/p>\n
According to him, the administrative claims process has frequently\nfaced technical challenges, such as claim documents from healthcare\nfacilities occasionally being sent in PDF format.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have tools to read those PDFs and input them into our financing\nplatform. With the launch of this EMR, we have agreed to join forces\nwith SATUSEHAT so that BPJS can directly read these electronic medical\nrecords as part of the claims process,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Regarding value-based financing, he mentioned that healthcare\nfinancing has historically tended to be volume-based due to the lack of\na nationally aligned remuneration system.<\/p>\n
SATUSEHAT EMR, he noted, can provide an overview of clinical\npathways, where data shows the duration of patient hospitalisation,\ntreatment outcomes, professional involvement, and costs.<\/p>\n
These aspects can turn the ecosystem into a shared guide for\nhealthcare services, helping to determine whether the treatment provided\nis appropriate and cost-efficient.<\/p>\n
With well-organised electronic medical records, he added, all data\ncan support more value-based services.<\/p>\n
