        "content": "<p>The Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) has recorded that 7,500\nNutrition Service Units (SPPG) across the country have now obtained\nhalal certificates, according to BPJPH Deputy for Halal Registration and\nCertification Mamat Salamet Burhanudin. \u201cSince being appointed, the\nfirst official we approached was the Head of the National Nutrition\nAgency. We stated our readiness to facilitate the SPPGs in obtaining\nhalal certification,\u201d he said during an aspiration gathering and\nconsultation meeting on halal certification services at the Kudus\nRegency Pendopo, Central Java, on Thursday. However, he noted that only\n7,500 SPPGs have been recorded as certified to date. He admitted he\ncould not determine the percentage of compliance because he has not yet\nreceived the total number of SPPGs nationwide, as the figure continues\nto grow. To encourage the certification process, BPJPH continuously\ncoordinates with the National Nutrition Agency, particularly directly\nwith SPPG coordinators. \u201cWe invite the coordinators via Zoom meetings.\nIn fact, we hold Zoom meetings with SPPG managers in every region,\u201d he\nsaid. The online meetings aim to ensure they receive direct explanations\nfrom BPJPH regarding the certification process. He expressed concern\nthat SPPGs might obtain information about halal certification from\nnon-credible sources, leading to misinformation and the perception that\nthe process is difficult or expensive. For SPPGs, the certification\nprocess differs from that for micro and small enterprises, as it falls\nunder the regular category and requires a field inspection. \u201cThis means\nit takes time. For regular halal certification for medium and large\nbusiness actors, the maximum processing time is 25 days. However, in\npractice, it can be faster, with some cases completed in just 10 days,\u201d\nhe said. Based on information gathered, many SPPGs have not yet applied\nfor halal certification because they have been too busy meeting targets,\nprioritising quantity. \u201cThis year, the focus is shifting to quality, so\nthey must start considering not only halal certification but also\nhygiene and health certifications, as these are required,\u201d he added. He\nalso reminded that obtaining halal certification is a legal obligation\nunder Law Number 33 of 2014 on Halal Product Assurance, and that October\n2026 is not the deadline for compliance. Meanwhile, data from various\nsources indicates that the number of SPPGs in Indonesia as of June 2026\nis expected to reach 29,991 units spread across 38 provinces.<\/p>",
