        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Badan Pengatur Hilir Minyak dan Gas Bumi (BPH\nMigas) states that residents of Tarakan City, North Kalimantan, can\ncelebrate Lebaran 2026 comfortably, supported by a reliable piped\nnatural gas (jargas) network for cooking purposes.<\/p>\n<p>BPH Migas Head Wahyudi Anas, in his statement in Jakarta on Saturday,\nsaid that 34,145 household connections (SR) in Tarakan City now benefit\nfrom piped natural gas services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to see directly that the energy supply and distribution in\nTarakan and surrounding areas are safe and free from disruptions,\u201d he\nsaid during his inspection of jargas services for household consumers\nand small customers in Tarakan City, North Kalimantan, on Friday\n(27\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Tarakan City, he continued, serves as a pilot area for other regions\nin implementing low-emission energy use.<\/p>\n<p>The gas supply comes from PT Medco E&amp;P Tarakan at 0.3 billion\nBritish thermal units per day (BBTUD) and Pertamina EP Bunyu also at 0.3\nBBTUD.<\/p>\n<p>The gas allocation for the jargas programme in Tarakan City has been\noptimally absorbed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTarakan is special, close to natural gas sources. In line with the\nPresident\u2019s Astacita of the Republic of Indonesia, which is national\nenergy independence, especially in Tarakan with natural gas supply from\nMedco E&amp;P Tarakan and Pertamina EP Bunyu for full utilisation of\njargas,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Wahyudi continued that the use of jargas will reduce the burden of\nsubsidies for 3-kilogram (kg) LPG gas, most of whose raw materials come\nfrom imports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government hopes that energy produced in Tarakan can be\noptimally utilised fully by the community. Of course, this is also the\nhard work of the local government, Pertamina, and PT PGN, so that the\nprinciple of benefit to the community can provide a more competitive\nprice (for jargas) and contribute to driving the community\u2019s economy,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n<p>The government, Wahyudi explained, ensures that areas in the\noutermost and border points can enjoy energy at affordable prices.<\/p>\n<p>Tarakan can soon implement 100 per cent jargas usage for the\ncommunity.<\/p>\n<p>One household consumer in Karangrejo Village, West Tarakan\nSubdistrict, Sabiran (32), acknowledged the advantages of jargas that\nflows continuously every time at a cheaper price.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe presence of jargas in Tarakan is very helpful in our daily\nlives, especially during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. When cooking, there\u2019s\nno need to worry about running out of gas because the gas flows 24\nhours. We thank the government for helping and smoothing the gas flow,\u201d\nsaid the jargas user since 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, small customer Elisabeth, owner of Warung Teras Tarakan,\nstated that she has not experienced any disruptions in using jargas\nservices so far.<\/p>\n<p>General Manager of PGN Sales Operation Region (SOR) III Hedi Hedianto\nsaid PGN is committed to continuing to distribute jargas to the Tarakan\ncommunity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe continue to socialise to the community on operating jargas stoves\nto keep them safe, and we also have a 24-hour emergency response team if\nthere are any issues from customers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Assistant for Economy and Development Administration of\nTarakan City Ajat Jatnika conveyed that the Tarakan community has\ndirectly felt the savings benefits of jargas usage.<\/p>\n<p>During his visit, Wahyudi also stopped by Medco E&amp;P Tarakan to\nensure that upstream natural gas supply flows safely to the\ncommunity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe give appreciation to Medco for their efforts in ensuring reliable\nsupply from continuous gas production to jargas users in Tarakan,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The event was also attended by BPH Migas Committee Member Harya\nAdityawarman, Executive General Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga\nKalimantan Region Isfahani, and Senior Manager of Field Relations and\nSecurity Onshore Medco E&amp;P Tarakan Herman Fauzi.<\/p>",
