        "content": "<p>The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) recorded\nthat Pertalite consumption rose by up to 12.92 percent in July 2026,\nexactly one month after the price increase of the non-subsidised fuel\nPertamax.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver time, because there was an increase, an adjustment to the\nnon-subsidised fuel price on 10 June 2026, the movement has experienced\nan increase in Pertalite consumption,\u201d said BPH Migas Head Wahyudi Anas\nduring a hearing with Commission XII of the Indonesian House of\nRepresentatives, monitored from Badung, Bali, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Wahyudi said the average distribution of Pertalite before the\nPertamax price increase was 75,795 kilolitres (KL) per day. However,\nafter the Pertamax price rose from Rp12,300 per litre to Rp16,250 per\nlitre on 10 June 2026, there was a surge in the average distribution of\nPertalite.<\/p>\n<p>On 10 June 2026, Pertalite consumption was recorded at 82,760 KL per\nday, up 9.19 percent, a difference of 6,965 KL per day compared with the\naverage Pertalite distribution before the Pertamax price increase.<\/p>\n<p>Then, in July 2026, the increase in Pertalite consumption occurred\nagain, reaching 85,589 KL per day, up 12.92 percent, a difference of\n9,794 KL per day compared with the average Pertalite distribution before\nthe Pertamax price increase.<\/p>\n<p>In the August period, Wahyudi said, Pertalite consumption declined\ncompared with July. The average Pertalite distribution in August was\naround 84,368 KL per day, lower than in July.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis decreased slightly because the Pertamax price was also\ncorrected, from Rp16,250 per litre to Rp15,950 per litre. As a result,\nPertalite consumption also fell,\u201d Wahyudi said.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, the average Pertalite consumption in August was still\nhigher than in the period before Pertamax experienced a price\nincrease.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis means that the increase in Pertalite consumption, which\ncurrently averages 84,368 KL, is indeed a shift from the original\nconsumption of Pertamax to Pertalite,\u201d Wahyudi said.<\/p>",
