        "content": "<p>The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) has proposed\nadjusting the volume limit for purchasing subsidised fuel for each\nvehicle. The measure is deemed necessary to curb the misuse of\nsubsidised fuel while ensuring its distribution is better targeted.<\/p>\n<p>BPH Migas Head Wahyudi Anas stated that evaluating the purchase\nvolume is one of the steps that needs to be taken amid the increasing\nmisuse of subsidised fuel in various regions. However, this policy\nrequires a revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No.\u00a0191 of\n2014.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also agree with evaluating the volume of fuel purchases in order\nto reduce the intensity of large-scale and continuous fuel purchases,\u201d\nWahyudi said during a hearing with Commission XII of the Indonesian\nHouse of Representatives at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta,\non Thursday (16\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the current regulations still group consumers based\non vehicle type, such as four-wheeled vehicles for private transport,\npublic transport for goods and passengers, and vehicles with six or more\nwheels. This classification is considered too general and needs to be\ndetailed so that distribution oversight is more effective.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA revision of Perpres 191 of 2014 needs to be carried out. The\nclassification is very minimal and this indeed needs to be detailed,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>Wahyudi explained that BPH Migas, together with Gadjah Mada\nUniversity (UGM), has been reviewing the revision of the Perpres since\n2022. However, to date, the proposal has not yet received approval.<\/p>",
