Jakarta\n(ANTARA) \u2013 The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) and\nthe North Maluku Provincial Government (Pemprov Maluku Utara) are\nboosting compliance with non-tax state revenue (PNBP) and regional\nrevenues. The improvement in compliance is realised through the signing\nof a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on the Utilisation of Data and\/or\nInformation to Enhance Compliance with PNBP Payments and Regional\nRevenues by the Head of BPH Migas Wahyudi Anas and the Governor of North\nMaluku Sherly Tjoanda in Jakarta, Thursday. Wahyudi said that this PKS\nrepresents a joint step to strengthen the distribution of motor fuels\n(BBM) in North Maluku. The synergy between BPH Migas and Pemprov Maluku\nUtara is important in supporting BBM distribution oversight. \u201cBPH Migas\nis committed to maintaining the availability and distribution of BBM so\nthat it continues to function well for the public. Through this\ncooperation, a more effective, targeted and sustainable energy\ngovernance is expected to be created,\u201d Wahyudi said in a statement. The\nexchange of data and information is expected to enhance oversight and\noptimise both national and regional revenues. In the PKS, both sides\nalso reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the confidentiality of\nexchanged data and information. \u201cThere are provisions in the\ntransmission of data related to its confidentiality. Let us safeguard it\ntogether,\u201d he asserted. At the same time, Sherly welcomed the\ncooperation with BPH Migas to strengthen BBM distribution oversight in\nNorth Maluku. This collaboration is also an important step to increase\ncompliance and optimise regional revenues. \u201cThe data and information\nexchange is expected to support more effective and targeted BBM\ndistribution oversight. The cooperation is expected to provide real\nbenefits for the people and development of North Maluku,\u201d she said.\nSherly also explained the commitment to supporting access to energy that\nis fair, equitable and sustainable. After this PKS, Sherly will promptly\ndeploy a team to coordinate further with BPH Migas. \u201cWe will work\ntogether to ensure that subsidised BBM is indeed distributed to those\nwho need it, so that economic activity can proceed smoothly,\u201d she said.\nSherly added that this cooperation is a first step and if carried out\ncarefully, would yield positive results. \u201cOnce again, we would like to\nthank you for this good cooperation. We will be the eyes and ears of BPH\nMigas in North Maluku Province to ensure that the distribution of\nsubsidised BBM is targeted and that all potential taxes payable to the\nstate can be optimised,\u201d she said.
