        "content": "<p>The Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) utilised the Indonesia\nTourism and Trade Investment Expo (ITTIE) 2026 to introduce various\nderivative products based on palm oil, coconut, and cocoa. This\ninitiative seeks to broaden market access for small and medium\nenterprises (SMEs) while demonstrating the high value-added potential of\ndownstream plantation commodities.<\/p>\n<p>BPDP views ITTIE 2026 as a platform to connect business actors,\ninvestors, and the public in advancing the plantation sector. Through\nthe exhibition, BPDP also introduced programmes related to human\nresource development, downstream processing, and strengthening the\ncompetitiveness of the national plantation industry.<\/p>\n<p>Murti Pagar Intan, Senior Staff of BPDP\u2019s Institutional Cooperation\nand SME Division, stated that BPDP\u2019s participation in ITTIE 2026 aims to\nopen wider opportunities for plantation SMEs to grow. \u2018Additionally,\nthis activity serves as a means to introduce various derivative products\nof plantation commodities to a broader public,\u2019 Murti said in a\nstatement on Wednesday (17\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>During the four-day ITTIE 2026 event held from 11-14 June 2026 at\nPlaza Surabaya, the BPDP booth was visited by around 350 people who\ninteracted directly with the various products and educational materials\non display. The booth\u2019s strategic location within the shopping centre\nalso allowed it to reach over 2,000 visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Murti said the exhibition also enhanced public understanding of human\nresource development in the plantation sector and encouraged SMEs to\nincrease their business capacity and expand their markets. \u2018This event\nalso serves as an educational medium to strengthen public understanding\nand build a positive perception of plantation commodities, particularly\npalm oil, coconut, and cocoa, along with their contribution to the\nnational economy,\u2019 Murti added.<\/p>\n<p>At the exhibition, BPDP showcased a number of products from fostered\nSMEs that utilise plantation commodities as their primary raw materials.\nThe products on display included batik from Jayanti Batik of Malang and\nSmart Batik of Yogyakarta, which use palm-based dyes; bag and sandal\ncrafts from Cambia Craft Aceh, which utilise palm frond sticks; and a\nbeverage made from pure coconut water by Choco Frizz.<\/p>\n<p>BPDP also introduced innovations resulting from the Palm Oil Research\nGrant Programme. One item that drew significant visitor attention was a\nbulletproof vest developed using palm oil-based biomaterials.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Through this exhibition, BPDP hopes to introduce the downstream\npotential of plantation commodities to the wider public, while\ndemonstrating that palm oil, cocoa, and coconut not only produce food\nproducts but can also serve as sources of raw materials for various\ninnovative, high-value-added, and competitive products,\u2019 said\nKrisna.<\/p>\n<p>For its participation in ITTIE 2026, the BPDP booth received the Most\nInnovative Stand award and first place for Best Stand. BPDP hopes that\nthe various innovations displayed will encourage the development of the\ndownstream plantation industry while strengthening the competitiveness\nof Indonesian products in broader markets.<\/p>",
