The Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) is participating in the\nSurabaya Great Expo (SGE) as part of efforts to broaden public education\nwhile introducing the various programmes it runs to support the\ndevelopment of Indonesia\u2019s palm oil, coconut, and cocoa plantation\nsectors. BPDP is also promoting plantation-based micro, small, and\nmedium enterprises (MSMEs) so they can move up the value chain, become\nmore competitive, and be innovative in processing the potential of\nIndonesian plantation commodities.<\/p>\n
BPDP\u2019s participation in the exhibition serves not only as a means of\ndisseminating information but also as an opportunity to demonstrate how\nits programmes benefit various stakeholders in the plantation sector,\nparticularly coconut, cocoa, and palm oil.<\/p>\n
Visitors to the SGE can learn about BPDP\u2019s programmes, which include\nPlantation Human Resource Development, Plantation Research and\nDevelopment, Plantation Promotion, Plantation Replanting, Plantation\nFacilities and Infrastructure, and the Development and Utilisation of\nBiofuels.<\/p>\n
These programmes are part of BPDP\u2019s efforts to drive excellence not\nonly in production but also in creating competent plantation human\nresources, increasing productivity, and generating innovations that\nbenefit surrounding communities.<\/p>\n
As a form of support for the development of plantation-based MSMEs,\nBPDP is featuring a chocolate processing MSME called Chocolate Raddina\nfrom Jember and a palm oil batik MSME called Jayanti Batik from Malang.\nThe presence of these two MSMEs provides an opportunity to introduce\nvalue-added products derived from Indonesian plantation commodities to\nthe wider public while expanding marketing opportunities and business\nnetworks.<\/p>\n
Mujiono Hardiansyah, a Junior Analyst at BPDP, said, \u201cWe are\npresenting BPDP partner MSMEs engaged in chocolate processing and palm\noil batik as a manifestation of BPDP\u2019s commitment to encouraging the\ndownstream processing of plantation commodities. We hope their\nparticipation in the SGE can open up wider market opportunities,\nstrengthen business networks, and increase public appreciation for\nsuperior Indonesian plantation-based products.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mujiono further stated that BPDP\u2019s participation in the SGE is one of\nthe efforts to increase public knowledge about the role and function of\nBPDP as well as to introduce downstream products derived from\nplantations such as palm oil, coconut, and cocoa.<\/p>\n
