The Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) is encouraging the\nutilisation of plantation commodities in the development of downstream\nproducts and the halal industry ecosystem through its participation in\nHalal Indo 2026 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD,\nTangerang.<\/p>\n
Muhammad Farouq Rosyadi, BPDP Institutional Cooperation Analyst,\nstated that the agency\u2019s participation in Halal Indo 2026 serves as a\nplatform to bring information regarding BPDP\u2019s roles and programmes\ncloser to the public. Education is also directed towards demonstrating\nthe potential of palm oil, cocoa, and coconut commodities to produce\nvalue-added products.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough this activity, we want to introduce the role of BPDP so that\nit is easily understood, while simultaneously showing how palm oil,\ncocoa, and coconut commodities can be developed to provide added value\nfor the community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Halal Indo 2026 took place from 24\u201327 September 2026. The event was\nopened on the first day by the Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang\nKartasasmita, and brought together various stakeholders to strengthen\nthe ecosystem, expand business networks, and increase the\ncompetitiveness of the national halal industry in the global market.<\/p>\n
During the event, BPDP acted as a sponsor and presented an\neducational booth. In addition to introducing BPDP\u2019s roles and\nprogrammes, the booth showcased various processed and innovative\nproducts from MSMEs within the plantation sector.<\/p>\n
Products presented included palm oil-based handicraft bags from\nMandiri Handcraft Langsa, Aceh; cleaning products and pastries made from\nprocessed palm oil from LPP Yogyakarta; chocolate products from Afa\nCokelat, Jember; and coconut-based beverages from Cocodrink,\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
The presence of these products demonstrates the diverse potential for\ndownstreaming plantation commodities into value-added products. The\nparticipation of MSMEs also provides a space to introduce products to\nthe public while opening opportunities for interaction and networking\nwith business actors and halal industry stakeholders.<\/p>\n
In addition to the educational booth, BPDP provided several\ninteractive activities for visitors during Halal Indo 2026. These\nactivities were designed to provide an educational experience while\nintroducing plantation commodities and BPDP programmes to the\npublic.<\/p>\n
On Sunday (27\/9\/2026), BPDP provided education regarding its\nprogrammes on the main stage of Halal Indo 2026. The activities\ncontinued with a workshop on creating handicrafts made from cocoa or\nchocolate, offering visitors the opportunity to learn about the\nutilisation of plantation commodities for creative, value-added\nproducts.<\/p>\n
Through this participation, BPDP also expanded its network with\nbusiness actors, MSMEs, the public, and other stakeholders.
