"summary": "The Ponorogo Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in East Java has ramped up vigilance and mitigation efforts in disaster-prone areas following a surge in landslides up to mid-April 2026, recording at least 50 incidents this year, predominantly landslides triggered by high rainfall and seasonal transitions. Measures include mapping vulnerable zones, intensifying patrols during heavy rain, pre-positioning personnel and equipment, and coordinating with local governments and volunteers for swift responses. The recent landslides in Slahung sub-district disrupted a provincial road but were quickly cleared, underscoring the ongoing high risk that calls for heightened public awareness in at-risk communities.",
