        "content": "<p>The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has recorded that 285\nresidents, or 91 families, in Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi,\nwere affected by the earthquake that shook the region several days ago.\n\u201c285 people were affected by the disaster, spread across 19 villages in\nseven sub-districts,\u201d said Acting Head of Parigi Moutong BPBD Moh Rivai\nwhen contacted from Palu on Sunday (21\/6). According to Rivai, the data\nwas obtained through a field assessment process carried out by the BPBD\nteam. Once the data collection is complete and verified, the report will\nbe submitted to the Central Sulawesi Provincial BPBD as a basis for\nfurther handling. The magnitude 7.6 earthquake that occurred on Tuesday\n(16\/6) caused damage to various infrastructure in Parigi Moutong\nRegency. Based on BPBD data, 87 houses suffered damage, consisting of 83\nunits with minor damage, three units with moderate damage, and one unit\nwith severe damage. In addition to residents\u2019 homes, a number of public\nfacilities were also affected. Two government offices were recorded as\ndamaged, along with one mosque, one church, and one school each. Two\ntemples were also reported to be affected by the earthquake. \u201cFive\nhealth facilities also suffered damage, three buildings with minor\ndamage and two other buildings with moderate damage,\u201d he said. During\nthe emergency response period running from 17 to 23 June 2026, the\nParigi Moutong Regency Government has undertaken various efforts to\naccelerate handling, including damage assessments and the distribution\nof aid to affected residents. \u201cWe have distributed all aid to the\nearthquake victims, totalling 100 packages, 25 of which came from BPBD\nand 75 from the Social Service. The aid was provided to meet the basic\nneeds of the community,\u201d he stated. The aid distributed includes food\nlogistics and other urgent necessities to help the community meet their\ndaily needs after the disaster. Rivai added that during the emergency\nresponse period, the local government did not set up a special health\npost. Instead, health services for affected residents were optimised\nthrough community health centres located around the earthquake-affected\nareas. Meanwhile, the Sigi Regency BPBD reported a quite significant\nimpact from the earthquake in its territory. As of Saturday (20\/6), the\nnumber of damaged houses reached 2,335 units. Of these, 1,955 units\nsuffered minor damage, 226 units moderate damage, and 154 units severe\ndamage. The number of victims and affected residents in Sigi Regency was\nrecorded at 8,586 people or 2,775 families. The breakdown includes 17\npeople with serious injuries, 108 people with minor injuries, and three\nresidents reported dead as a result of the disaster.<\/p>",
