Bosowa to start operation<\/p>\n
UJUNGPANDANG (JP): PT Bosowa Maros will start operating in
\nDecember its cement factory in Maros, South Sulawesi, an
\nexecutive said.<\/p>\n
Bosowa Group's president, Muhammad Aksa Mahmud, said last week
\nin Ujungpandang, South Sulawesi, that the construction of the
\nfactory was 90 percent completed.<\/p>\n
"The construction of the whole factory complex will be
\nfinished by next July," he said.<\/p>\n
Mahmud said that the establishment of the factory needed an
\ninvestment of Rp 600 billion (US$246.6 million) and that his
\ncompany had assigned Daewoo Corporation of South Korea to
\nconstruct the factory on a 60-hectare area under a turn-key
\ncontract worth $208.8 million.<\/p>\n
The plant, with an annual capacity of 1.8 million tons, would
\noperate with a dust particle emission of 50 mg\/N m3, far lower
\nthan the maximum level of 80 mg\/N m3 allowed by the government,
\nhe said.<\/p>\n
Mahmud said earlier that 60 percent of the factory's output
\nwould be sold domestically, especially in eastern provinces, and
