Bosnia and Zimbabwe qualify for semi-finals<\/p>\n
KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): Bosnia Herzegovina and Zimbabwe have
\nqualified for the Dunhill Cup semi-finals after beating Indonesia
\nand Zimbabwe, respectively, in the final Group B matches played
\nhere on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Bosnia downed Indonesia 2-0, while Zimbabwe routed Vietnam 6-0
\nin the two Group B matches.<\/p>\n
Today's semi-finals will see Zimbabwe taking on Group A winner
\nChina, while Bosnia will meet Malaysia, the second-placed team in
\nGroup A.<\/p>\n
Earlier Wednesday, Indonesia failed to upset Bosnia, despite
\nhaving the speed and support of its partisan supporters, mainly
\nmade up of Indonesian workers in Malaysia.<\/p>\n
Their forwards gave early indication of their intentions by
\nsetting up successive raids on the Bosnian goal.<\/p>\n
But the Bosnians, shrewdly husbanding their energy in the
\nhumidity with heavy ground conditions, absorbed the Indonesian
\npressure and waited for their opponents to make mistakes.<\/p>\n
One such error came in the 29th minute when Indonesian
\ngoalkeeper Hendro Kartiko needlessly brought down Bosnian forward
\nDzelaludin Muhaemovic inside the penalty box. Sanin Pintul made
\nno mistake with the spot kick.<\/p>\n
A minute before half-time, Asim Hrnjic put Bosnia further
\nahead by capitalizing on another Indonesian defensive error to
\nscore.<\/p>\n
The scoreline stayed unchanged till full-time with Indonesia
\nvainly trying to salvage some pride, while the Bosnians confined
\nthemselves to avoiding errors.<\/p>\n
Zimbabwe later claimed the second semi-final berth from Group
\nB with a 6-0 routing of Vietnam .<\/p>\n
The victory placed Zimbabwe in the second place in Group B and
\na semi-final match today with China.<\/p>\n
Zimbabwe led 3-0 at half-time with two goals from Gilbert
\nMusangazhike and one from Alous Bunjira.<\/p>\n
After the break Mushangazhike collected his hat-trick while
\nBunjira scored his second goal. Claudius Zviripati added his name
\nto the scoresheet with one goal to wrap up the victory for
\nZimbabwe.<\/p>\n
