Borobudur holds interfaith event<\/p>\n
MAGELANG, Central Java: Six musical groups from different
\nreligious backgrounds are scheduled to take part in an interfaith
\ndialog in the form of clinics, discussions and collaborative
\nperformances at Borobudur Temple from Jan. 9 to Jan. 15.<\/p>\n
The theme of the event will be Nurani dalam Harmoni
\n(Conscience in Harmony).<\/p>\n
The six groups taking part in the event are Mantra Buddha,
\nKesenian Mantra Tengger, Cakradonya, Schola Iacartensis, Yang
\nThing Makin Semarang and Lingkung Seni Purwa Wirahma.<\/p>\n
They are expected to play spiritual music according to their
\nrespective religious backgrounds.<\/p>\n
Jointly organized by Yayasan Titian Budaya, UNESCO's Jakarta
\nregional office and the Office of the State Minister for Culture
\nand Tourism, the event is aimed at encouraging an interfaith
\ndialog in the community as a way in dealing with differences.<\/p>\n
Apart from a collaborative performance to take place in front
\nof the temple on Jan. 15, each of the groups also will give solo
\nperformances or smaller collaborative performances.<\/p>\n
Other activities at the event will include discussions and
\nclinics, which will take place at the Pondok Tingal Hotel, about
