        "content": "<p>Pontianak (ANTARA) - The Indonesia-Malaysia Border Security Task\nForce (Satgas Pamtas) in the operational command area of Korem\n121\/Alambhana Wanawwai (Abw) has successfully thwarted an attempt to\nsmuggle 1,664 ecstasy pills at the West Kalimantan border.<\/p>\n<p>The interception took place on Tuesday night (21\/4), and today the\nsuspects and evidence were handed over to the relevant authorities,\u201d\nsaid Commander of Korem 121\/Abw, Brigadier General TNI (Ret.)\nPurnomosidi, during a press conference in Pontianak on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that this success is part of efforts to strengthen border\nsecurity in line with directives from Pangdam XII\/Tanjungpura.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the case began when personnel from Pos Siding of\nYonarhanud 1\/PBC\/1 Kostrad conducted a routine patrol in Siding Village,\nBengkayang Regency, around 21:36 WIB.<\/p>\n<p>During the patrol, officers stopped a white Toyota Avanza vehicle\nwith licence plate KB 1511 KC passing through the border area. Upon\ninspection, officers discovered narcotic evidence inside the\nvehicle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the inspection, 1,664 ecstasy pills were found,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The discovery was then confirmed through a joint inspection with the\nJagoi Babang Customs Office, which stated that the evidence positively\ncontained ecstasy-type narcotics.<\/p>\n<p>Two suspected perpetrators were also secured in the operation. Both\nare Indonesian citizens with initials Y and ES, residing in Bengkayang\nRegency and North Pontianak.<\/p>\n<p>Purnomosidi added that all evidence and suspected perpetrators will\nsubsequently be processed in accordance with applicable legal provisions\nby the relevant agencies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor this success, Pangdam XII\/Tanjungpura has expressed appreciation\nto the soldiers on the ground for their dedication and vigilance in\nprotecting the border area from various threats, including narcotics\ncirculation,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
