        "content": "<p>Pertamina New &amp; Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE) continues to\naccelerate the realisation of national energy security based on green\nenergy. On Monday, 14 September 2026, the company officially began\noperations of the Bioethanol Development Centre located in Tegineneng,\nPesawaran Regency, Lampung Province.<\/p>\n<p>This pilot-scale facility has been comprehensively built as a centre\nfor developing the bioethanol ecosystem, covering stages from raw\nmaterial selection and cultivation methods to production technology\ntrials and final validation.<\/p>\n<p>The President Director of Pertamina NRE, John Anis, explained that\nthe development of this facility employs an innovative approach using\nmulti-feedstock and multi-generation technology. Through this concept,\nthe pilot centre can process various types of raw materials and\nefficiently combine first-generation (1G) and second-generation (2G)\nbioethanol production to maximise local resources.<\/p>\n<p>The inauguration of this strategic facility was attended by several\nkey figures, including the Deputy Minister of Investment and\nDownstreaming\/Deputy Head of BKPM, Todotua Pasaribu; President\nCommissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero), Mochamad Iriawan; Director of\nRisk Management of PT Pertamina (Persero), Ahmad Siddik Badruddin; and\nthe Governor of Lampung, Rahmat Mirzani Djausal. Also present were\nstrategic partners from Japan, namely the President Director of PT\nToyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN), Nandi Julyanto, and the\nPresident Director of Toyota Tsusho Indonesia (TTI), Toru Murakami.<\/p>\n<p>The inauguration of the Bioethanol Development Centre also featured\nthe signing of two important Memoranda of Understanding (MoU). The first\nis a partnership between Pertamina NRE and the Lampung Provincial\nGovernment, focusing on energy security, food security, and agribusiness\ndevelopment in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The second is a collaboration between Pertamina NRE, TMMIN, TTI, and\nthe Research Association of Biomass Innovation for Next Generation\nAutomobile Fuels (raBit). This partnership aims to conduct technical and\ncommercial feasibility studies regarding the sustainable production and\nutilisation of bioethanol in Indonesia, including agendas for knowledge\nand technology transfer.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to this move, the Deputy Minister of Investment and\nDownstreaming\/Deputy Head of BKPM, Todotua Pasaribu, noted that\nbioethanol development will create a beneficial circular ecosystem.
