A book presenting the thoughts, works, and exemplary character of Sri\nSultan Hamengku Bawono IX was launched at the National Library\n(Perpusnas) Theatre in Central Jakarta on Thursday. The book highlights\nhis values of leadership, service, and character education for the\nnation\u2019s generations.<\/p>\n
In his keynote address, the Governor of the Special Region of\nYogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Bawono X, stated that his father\u2019s\nexample was not limited to his position and title but was reflected in\nhow he carried out his responsibilities and service. He recalled how his\nfather treated palace servants and ordinary people with the same respect\nafforded to state guests.<\/p>\n
\u2018From him, I learned that the throne is not a privilege but a\nresponsibility, that dharma is not a slogan but a daily practice, and\nthat karsa is not personal ambition but the will to serve sincerely,\u2019\nsaid Sri Sultan Hamengku Bawono X.<\/p>\n
The book launch was officially conducted by Sri Sultan Hamengku\nBawono X, marked by the striking of a gong.
