Sri Kresno<br>\nTjokrobawono down played on Monday a slew of bomb threats in the<br>\ncity in recent weeks, saying there was no critical political gain<br>\nin attempting to plant bombs there.<\/p>\n<p>\"There is no purpose to these threats, other than to raise<br>\nanxiety among locals. Political issues here are not like in<br>\nJakarta,\" he told journalists.<\/p>\n<p>In the latest scare, on Sunday, a caller informed an employee<br>\nof fast-food restaurant McDonald's that in 30 minutes a bomb<br>\nplaced in a corner of the restaurant would explode.<\/p>\n<p>But nothing happened and police did not find an explosive<br>\ndevice.<\/p>\n<p>Previous bomb scares have targeted the city's water facility,<br>\nuniversities and train station.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, Sri Kresno urged owners of multistory buildings<br>\nand strategic offices to install a telephone device which could<br>\nmonitor incoming calls.<\/p>\n<p>\"It's easier for us to track them that way,\" he said.<br>\n(bby\/nur)<\/p>",
