Bomb maker trials commence<\/p>\n

The Cibinong District Court began on Monday the trial against
\nOman Rochman, alias Aman Abdurrahman, a teacher of Islam, for
\nallegedly masterminding a terrorist attack and giving orders to
\nmake bombs.<\/p>\n
The court also heard the cases of his suspected accomplices --
\nAgus Kusdiyanto, Muhamad Ferdiansyah Putra Musahid, Inggrid Wahyu
\nCahyaningsih and Hadi Suwandono, alias Ubaidah, in separate
\nhearings.<\/p>\n
Prosecutor Lukman Rumaedi told the court that Oman and
\nSyaiful, alias Harun, alias Fathurrobi -- who is still at large
\n-- had met several times at different locations between December
\n2003 and March 2004 to discuss a bomb attack.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors accused Oman of violating the Antiterrorism Law
\nand the 1951 Emergency Law on possession and making of
\nexplosives. The laws carry a maximum death sentence.<\/p>\n
They said Oman deployed his pupils to undergo bomb-making and
\nmilitia training, and took out charity funds to finance their
\nactivities.<\/p>\n
Militia training was reportedly conducted in January at the
\nUniversity of Indonesia campus in Depok, where participants were
\nclad in long-sleeved, black T-shirts reading Al-Asad Outdoor
\nActivities Club, while bomb-making was taught at Inggrid's
\nmother's house on Jl. Bakti ABRI, Cimanggis.<\/p>\n
Residual material from the explosives training apparently blew
\nup the house on March 21.<\/p>\n
The court is set to hear on Tuesday the cases of four other
\ndefendants: Syarif Hidayat, Kamaludin, Samin Saan and Septiono,
\nalias Amar, alias Widi.<\/p>\n
Two other suspects, Inggrid's husband Andri Susanto, alias
\nKholid, and Achmad Milan are still on the run.<\/p>",
