Bogus policeman arrested<\/p>\n
DENPASAR: An alleged drug dealer, who, by convincingly
\nimpersonating a high-ranking police officer, had once managed to
\nscare away a narcotics detective, was arrested on Sunday along
\nwith a .38 caliber revolver and six ecstasy pills.<\/p>\n
\"We nabbed him this morning at the Scandal discotheque
\nin Seminyak, Kuta,\" chief of Bali Police narcotics division Adj.
\nSnr. Com. Bambang Sugiharto confirmed.<\/p>\n
The suspect was identified as 33-year-old Nyoman
\nDwipayana Putra, the owner of a bookstore in downtown
\nDenpasar.<\/p>\n
A police source disclosed a recent incident, in which the
\nsuspect managed to elude a police search by claiming that he was
\na police captain and intimidating junior officers.<\/p>\n
\"The junior officers backed off and let him walk
\naway untouched,\" the source said.<\/p>\n
The suspect tried a similar tactic on Sunday morning when the
\nsix-member team, led by First Insp. Awan Hariono, surrounded his
\ntable.<\/p>\n
This time, however, the suspect inflated his rank into
\nthat of a police commissioner of the Provost Division and even
\nproduced a photograph of himself wearing a police commissioner's
\nuniform.<\/p>\n
But the officers were not taken in and decided to arrest him,
\nseizing the ecstasy pills and a revolver stashed in a cupboard in
