Bogor traders reject relocation<\/p>\n
BOGOR (JP): Some 300 traders selling a variety of goods in
\nkiosks and on streets in Pasar Ramayana complex appealed to local
\ncouncillors on Friday to help them secure the cancellation of a
\ncity administration order concerning their immediate relocation.<\/p>\n
M. Ali Makki, coordinator of the traders, told the councillors
\nthat they refused to be moved from the site next Thursday.<\/p>\n
They instead asked the authorities to allow them to remain at
\nthe site until after Idul Fitri (which marks the end of the
\nRamadhan fasting month), which this year falls late December.<\/p>\n
According to Ali, the city administration has issued an order
\nrequesting the merchants leave the site by Aug. 10.<\/p>\n
\"We're ready to be relocated only after Lebaran. For that,
\nwe're ready to help the authorities secure the relocation
\nprocess,\" Ali said.<\/p>\n
Councillor Nur Zaman promised to arrange a meeting between the
\ntraders and related parties, such as municipality officials, the
\npolice and councillors, on Saturday to discuss the matter.<\/p>\n
According to Soleh, another trader, they also questioned the
\ndecision of the authorities to relocate the traders to three
\ndifferent sites, namely Jambu Dua, Kembang Baru and Cimanggu
\nmarkets, which are located close to each other.<\/p>\n
\"Our sales will drop since customers will obviously split
