Bogor team to represent Indonesia<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): T. Sugianto, Zainal Effendi and Anthony Hatuley
\nfrom the Bogor golf club won the 1997 Johnnie Walker Inter-team
\nChampionship national final at the Jagorawi Golf and Country Club
\nSunday.<\/p>\n
They will also represent Indonesia in the upcoming Johnnie
\nWalker International final at the Emeralda golf and country club
\non Dec. 3 and Dec. 4.<\/p>\n
Vence Suwela, Gusti Agung Rake and Ida Bagus Gunawan from
\nDenpasar finished second with the same number of points, 230, but
\nthe Denpasar trio had a handicap 45 while the Bogor team's
\nhandicap was only 41.<\/p>\n
In third place were M. Zafrullah, Jimmy Samantha and Rudi
\nHermawan from the Cikarang team, which scored 237 points with a
\nhandicap of 43.<\/p>\n
Twenty-five teams competed in the national final.<\/p>\n
The international final will be contested by the best amateur
\ngolfers from the Philippines, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia,
\nSingapore and other Asian countries.<\/p>\n
The final is taking place in Indonesia for the second time.
\nThe first time was in 1994 at the Nusa Dua Golf Club.<\/p>\n
The Emeralda golf and country club will also host the Johnnie
\nWalker Super Tour, in which national golfer Maan Nasim, Briton
\nNick Faldo, South African Ernie Els, Welshman Ian Woosnam and
\nSwede Jesper Parvenik are among those scheduled to play.<\/p>\n
Thai Boonchu Ruangkit, Filipino Felix Casas and Hong Chia Yuh
\nof Chinese Taipei will also compete in the US$350,000 event.<\/p>\n
The tour will continue from Jakarta to Bangkok, Manila and
