Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto has introduced a proposal to develop an\naxis road connecting Lebak Regency, Bogor Regency, and Sukabumi Regency\nto provide new access and stimulate the economy in western Bogor.\nSpeaking in Cibinong, West Java, on Tuesday, Rudy stated that the local\ngovernment has included the construction plan for the Malasari-Cianten\nconnecting road in the 2026 development programme.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn 2026, we are creating a new plan to connect Malasari Road with\nthe Cianten area so that the economy can move,\u201d he said. According to\nRudy, the development of this section is part of an effort to expand\nconnectivity in western Bogor, which borders Lebak Regency in Banten\nProvince and Sukabumi Regency in West Java.<\/p>\n
He confirmed that communication has begun with the local governments\nof the two neighbouring regions to realise this cross-regency axis road.\n\u201cWe have started building communication with the Lebak and Sukabumi\nRegency Governments to jointly develop the Lebak-Bogor-Sukabumi Axis,\u201d\nhe added.<\/p>\n
Rudy explained that the route will connect to Malasari Road in the\nNanggung District, which is currently being developed by the Bogor\nRegency Government as an access point to western Bogor. Once realised,\nresidents travelling to Sukabumi or Palabuhanratu will no longer need to\npass through the central routes of Bogor Regency.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnce the axis road is built, Bogor will complete and widen Malasari\nRoad, which will then connect to Lebak-Banten and subsequently to\nSukabumi,\u201d he said. He noted that this alternative route could shorten\ntravel times and create new economic growth opportunities in areas that\nhave historically been relatively isolated.<\/p>\n
The proposal for the Lebak-Bogor-Sukabumi Axis emerged after the\nconstruction of Nirmala Road in Malasari Village began impacting local\neconomic activities and the tourism sector.
