Bogor Regency Government has increased its target for Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) from 500 to 700 kitchens as part of its free nutritious meal programme. The expansion is expected to create approximately 35,000 jobs and stimulate local economic circulation through sourcing agricultural products from the region. Each kitchen facility will serve about 1,800 beneficiaries and undergo food safety testing before distribution.

Bogor Regency - The Bogor Regency Government in West Java has
increased its target for developing Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units
(SPPG) from 500 to 700 kitchens as part of implementing the free
nutritious meal programme in the region.

Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto stated that the target increase was
undertaken in response to growing service needs and significant
potential economic benefits for Bogor Regency residents.

“From the original 500, we have re-evaluated to nearly 700. Overall,
the programme is running well, though there are still several
construction phases ongoing,” said Rudy at the launch of SPPG operations
at Polres Bogor 9 in Cibungbulang on Monday.

He explained that the 700 SPPG kitchens are not only intended to meet
nutritional needs of students but also have the potential to create new
employment opportunities. Each kitchen employs an average of 45 to 47
workers.

“If one kitchen averages 45 workers, then with a target of 700
kitchens, we can create job opportunities for approximately 35,000 Bogor
residents,” he said.

Beyond employment, Rudy believes the programme will drive local
economic circulation as food procurement is prioritised from Bogor
Regency, such as rice, chicken, vegetables, and other agricultural
commodities.

According to him, the SPPG programme is a state initiative that not
only focuses on providing nutritious meals but also stimulates community
economics through local supply chains.

Bogor Regency Government, alongside TNI, National Police, and the
Regional Legislative Council, will conduct regular monitoring of SPPG
operations, particularly after Eid Al-Fitr when normal school activities
resume.

“We will visit several SPPG facilities. If we find any issues, we
will collaborate with model kitchens to ensure consistent service
standards and quality,” he said.

Bogor Regency Government hopes the increased SPPG target will expand
programme benefits, both in terms of public nutrition fulfilment and
sustainable local economic strengthening.

Meanwhile, Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto stated that
Bogor Police Force manages 12 SPPG units that are gradually beginning
operations. The SPPG officially launched in Cibungbulang serves
approximately 1,800 beneficiaries.

He added that the SPPG kitchens managed by Bogor Police Force have a
food quality assurance mechanism through testing by the Medical and
Health Section team before food is distributed to beneficiaries.

“Every meal is tested to ensure safety and health standards before
distribution to beneficiaries,” said Wikha.

During Ramadan, food distribution is adjusted according to technical
guidelines in the form of dry food that can be consumed after students
return from school.
",
