Bogor Park full of people and litter<\/p>\n
Kosasih, a cleaning worker at the Bogor Botanical Park, is
\nsweeping piles of ticket stubs thrown by visitors along Jl.
\nKenari I.<\/p>\n
The park is a very popular place for family outings during the
\nIdul Fitri holiday.<\/p>\n
According to the park's management, every day thousands of
\nvisitors from Bogor, Jakarta and surrounding areas come to the
\npark for picnics.<\/p>\n
On the second day of Idul Fitri alone, the official number of
\nvisitors reached 17,484 people.<\/p>\n
It's good business for the park, but for Kosasih holiday
\nseason means that he has to spend extra time and energy cleaning
\nup the area.<\/p>\n
\"I could collect around 20 bins of ticket stubs a day from the
\nmain entrance gate alone during the holiday period because
\nvisitors throw them away as they pass the gates,\" he said.<\/p>\n
He complained that a lot of other litter is also thrown by
\nvisitors onto the roads.<\/p>\n
\"Can you imagine how much litter I have to clean up everyday?
\nVisitors just throw their garbage wherever they want without
\nbothering to put it in the trash bins that have been provided
\nnearby. They seem to have no discipline at all,\" Kosasih said.<\/p>\n
He added that the attitude of local visitors was very
\ndifferent compared to foreigners. Foreigners would try to throw
\ntheir garbage into a trash bin, or would keep their garbage in
