Bogor Palace to be opened to the public<\/p>\n
BOGOR (JP): To celebrate its 519th anniversary that falls on
\nJune 3, Bogor will host Bogor Festival II featuring various
\nactivities to attract more visitors to the rain-drenched city.<\/p>\n
As part of the celebration, the Bogor administration will open
\nthe Bogor presidential palace to the public from May 28 through
\nto June 7.<\/p>\n
In addition, the administration will lift the admission fee to
\nthe Bogor botanical gardens, where the palace is located, thus
\npeople would be free to enter the gardens and the palace without
\npaying anything during the period.<\/p>\n
The chairman of the festival's steering committee, Gatut
\nSusanto said the festival would also feature Bogor Expo, a bird
\nsinging competition, fishing competition and the people's fiesta.<\/p>\n
Gatut said that the people's fiesta would be held at the Bogor
\nlegislative council's compound and traditional Bogor foods would
\nbe provided free of charge to visitors.<\/p>\n
But visitors coming in groups must report to the committee's
\noffice in the Pedjajaran sporting hall to get the tickets for the
\nfree foods.<\/p>\n
He said that the committee would need a total of Rp 600
\nmillion to host those activities, but so far had collected only
