Bogor mayor to sue illegal inn<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Bogor Mayor Eddy Gunardi is to sue the
\nmanagement of Wisma Hesa in Pangkalan Bantarjati, Bogor Utara,
\nfor reopening the sealed-off motel illegally.<\/p>\n
The 20-room building was closed by the authorities last month
\nfor operating illegally. The building, according to the permit,
\nshould have been used for a house, not a motel. This is the
\nsecond alleged violation by the motel's owner.<\/p>\n
The management had broken the seal stuck on the building and
\nreopened the motel.<\/p>\n
The Antara news agency quoted Eddy as saying on Monday that
\nhis mayoral office would let the motel operate to prove that the
\nowner has acted unlawfully.<\/p>\n
A Bogor resident told The Jakarta Post yesterday that the
\nbuilding was constructed by Effendi, who had run the motel since
\n1989. The land certificate was, however, registered under another
\nperson's name.<\/p>\n
\"The building permit was issued by the former mayor, Suratman,
\nfor a residential house,\" the resident, who asked to remain
\nanonymous, said. The building stands on a 1,100-square-meter plot
