Bogor District \u2014 The Forum of Regional Leaders (Forkopimda) in Bogor\nDistrict, West Java, has facilitated organised running events for young\npeople in the Pakansari Stadium area as an effort to channel their\npassion for the sport whilst preventing illegal activities that could\ndisturb public order during Ramadan.<\/p>\n
Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto stated that the events\nwill be held every Sunday evening throughout Ramadan, involving\nparticipants from various sub-districts across Bogor District.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have provided facilities for the running events. Every Sunday\nevening in the Pakansari area, approximately 200 runners from\nrepresentatives of all sub-districts participate,\u201d said Wikha in\nCibinong on Sunday.<\/p>\n
He explained that the events are structured as staged competitions,\nbeginning with qualifying rounds, elimination rounds, and culminating in\nfinal matches scheduled to run until mid-Ramadan.<\/p>\n
According to him, providing an official venue aims to ensure sporting\nactivities continue while not disrupting general road users or public\ncomfort.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are providing space through Dashrun Bogor so that running\nenthusiasm can be channelled, but without closing roads or disturbing\nthe community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The police chief also urged the public not to organise illegal street\nracing activities, which could potentially trigger security disturbances\nand accidents.<\/p>\n
Beyond facilitating sporting activities, combined military, police,\nand local government personnel continue conducting night patrols to\nanticipate potential social friction, gang clashes, and illegal racing\nincidents.<\/p>\n
He requested the public to immediately report any gatherings that\ncould pose security risks through the police hotline 110 so that\nofficers can respond promptly in the field.<\/p>\n
Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto added that maintaining order during\nRamadan involves not only enforcement actions but also providing\npositive activities for young people.<\/p>\n
