        "content": "<p>Boehringer acquires plant<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Pharmaceutical company PT Boehringer Ingelheim<br>\nIndonesia has acquired a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in<br>\nBogor, West Java, to enable it to manufacture its own<br>\nprescription and nonprescription drugs<\/p>\n<p>The company said in statement on Wednesday that the 9,130-<br>\nsquare-meter factory, with a total investment of US$15 million,<br>\nwill start producing Boehringer Ingelheim Indonesia products in<br>\nJanuary 2002.<\/p>\n<p>With the new factory, Boehringer Ingelheim Indonesia expects<br>\nto begin exporting its products by 2003, it said.<\/p>\n<p>The company, a subsidiary of Germany's Boehringer Ingelheim<br>\nGroup, has been producing medicinal drugs in cooperation with PT<br>\nSchering Indonesia since 1969.<\/p>\n<p>\"After 32 years of joint operation (with PT Schering<br>\nIndonesia) in Indonesia, we have decided to aggressively develop<br>\nour business and establish an independent corporate identity,\"<br>\ncompany president Ron Scobie said in the statement.
