The National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) has affirmed that\neconomic empowerment is an important part of ensuring the\nderadicalisation process runs sustainably.<\/p>\n
BNPT Head Eddy Hartono said economic empowerment is needed so that\nderadicalisation partners can return to living productively in\nsociety.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a follow-up to the deradicalisation programme, in which we\nare developing the entrepreneurial aspects of the social reintegration\nprogramme for our brothers and sisters, former terrorism convicts,\u201d Eddy\nsaid when confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Within the framework of the Deradicalisation Implementation\nCoordination Team, BNPT together with several ministries and agencies is\ntherefore empowering deradicalisation partners (former terrorism\nconvicts) in the agriculture, livestock and fisheries sectors, on land\nowned by PT Sang Hyang Seri (SHS).<\/p>\n
The empowerment is carried out by BNPT together with the Ministry of\nImmigration and Corrections (Kemenimipas) and the police\u2019s Special\nDetachment 88 Anti-Terror (Densus 88 AT).<\/p>\n
The success of the programme was marked by the harvest of cultivated\nproduce managed by deradicalisation partners on PT SHS land in the\nSukamandi area, Subang Regency, West Java, on Friday (31\/7).<\/p>\n
The joint harvest activity also served as evidence that cross-sector\nsynergy is capable of strengthening the social reintegration process,\nincreasing economic independence, and supporting the national food\nsecurity programme, in line with the second point of the President\u2019s\nAstacita as set out in the 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development\nPlan (RPJMN) under the second National Priority.<\/p>\n
The second point of the Astacita reads: \u201cStrengthening the national\ndefence and security system and promoting national self-reliance through\nself-sufficiency in food, energy, water, sharia economy, digital\neconomy, green economy, and blue economy.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope our brothers and sisters can be accepted back into society,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n
During the joint harvest activity, Minister of Immigration and\nCorrections Agus Andrianto said his ministry fully supports the\nprogramme because the rehabilitation of deradicalisation partners is\npart of the state\u2019s responsibility.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is part of the Job Training Centre that we are developing\ntogether with PT Sang Hyang Seri and BNPT in order to support the\nPresident\u2019s food security programme,\u201d Agus said.<\/p>\n
He assessed that the Sukamandi area has great potential to be\ndeveloped as a training and empowerment centre for assisted communities.\nWith an area of 3,200 hectares, the land can be utilised for various\nproductive programmes.<\/p>\n
President Director of PT Sang Hyang Seri Adhi Cahyono Nugroho\nexplained that in addition to carrying out a business transformation as\na national seed innovation centre, the company is also committed to\nsupporting social empowerment programmes through the development of\nintegrated farming (circular farming).<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are not only talking about agriculture, but also goat farming and\ncatfish. This circular farming will be our focus going forward,\nincluding educating and providing knowledge to assisted residents,\u201d Adhi\nsaid.<\/p>\n
The success of the programme has also been directly felt by\nderadicalisation partners, one of whom is Didin Kamaludin, who admitted\nto having benefited from the rehabilitation over the past four\nyears.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlhamdulillah, it has been running for four years. Initially it was\nrice cultivation, then we developed sheep fattening and catfish farming.\nEconomically it has helped, Alhamdulillah we earn income from rice,\ncatfish and sheep farming, which helps our economy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Didin said that in addition to receiving business mentoring, the\nderadicalisation partners also regularly receive guidance and moral\nsupport from BNPT, Kemenimipas, Densus 88 AT Polri, and PT Sang Hyang\nSeri.<\/p>\n
The collaboration across ministries, agencies, law enforcement and\nstate-owned enterprises serves as an example that the success of the\nderadicalisation programme is measured not only by security aspects, but\nalso by the ability to bring about real change.<\/p>\n
