        "content": "<p>The National Border Management Agency of the Republic of Indonesia\n(BNPP), through the Assistant Deputy for Land Border Area Potential\n(Assistant Deputy PKPD), held a Human Resource Capacity Enhancement\nactivity. This event targeted micro-entrepreneurs in the tie-dye weaving\nsector in the Motaain State Border Crossing Post (PLBN) area, Belu\nRegency, Nusa Tenggara Timur Province (NTT), over two days on 14-15\nApril 2026. The activity forms part of BNPP\u2019s efforts to promote\neconomic self-reliance among border communities through enhancing the\ncapacity of MSMEs based on local potential. The training focused on\nstrengthening technical skills and creativity among tie-dye weavers to\nproduce independent products with added value and competitiveness. BNPP\nRI Assistant Deputy PKPD, Brigadier General TNI Topri Daeng Balaw,\nrepresenting Deputy for Border Area Potential Management, Inspector\nGeneral of Police Edfrie R Maith, emphasised that the training\nimplements the mandate of President RI Prabowo Subianto. This is\noutlined in the sixth Asta Cita, namely building from villages and from\nthe bottom for economic equality and poverty eradication. \u201cWe are\norganising this training to improve skills and encourage economic growth\nin border communities. The hope is that their capabilities will\nincrease, giving them superior expertise and products with greater\nvalue,\u201d said Topri in a written statement on Wednesday (15\/4\/2026).\nTopri explained that the training materials covered natural dyeing\ntechniques and yarn drying, development of distinctive Belu weaving\nmotifs, and sewing derivative products made from weaving materials such\nas wallets. Through strengthening the tie-dye weaving sector, BNPP\nencourages artisans to be more creative, improve fabric quality, and\nprocess it into derivative products like bags, wallets, and clothing.\n\u201cThis two-day training does not end here. BNPP RI will promote ongoing\nmentoring up to marketing aspects, so that products are truly ready to\ncompete and directly impact income growth for border communities,\u201d\nstated Topri. The activity was supported by cross-sector collaboration\nwith several strategic partners, including BAZNAS, Pertamina Foundation,\nBank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), and the local government (Pemda), as an\neffort to strengthen the MSME ecosystem in border areas. Meanwhile, the\nHead of PLBN Motaain, Maria Fatima Rika, appreciated BNPP\u2019s initiative\nin making PLBN a centre for developing tie-dye weaving artisan capacity.\nAccording to Maria, the role of PLBN is not only as a cross-border\nservice hub but also as a driver of local economy. \u201cPLBN is the front\nporch of the state. In line with BNPP RI\u2019s directives, its presence must\nprovide direct economic impact for surrounding communities,\u201d said Maria.\nMaria hopes that human resource strengthening through this training will\nelevate Belu Tie-Dye Weaving not only as cultural heritage but also as a\nresilient business commodity. \u201cWith superior human resources, Belu\nTie-Dye Weaving is expected to penetrate border markets up to Timor\nLeste,\u201d said Maria.
