        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB)\nrevealed the impact of the strong wind disaster that hit Klaten Regency,\nCentral Java, on Thursday (May 14) evening, which resulted in damage to\ntelecommunications infrastructure and the electricity grid in the\narea.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the BNPB\u2019s Center for Data, Information and Disaster\nCommunication, Abdul Muhari, in Jakarta, Friday, said that this extreme\nweather phenomenon had toppled one mobile phone tower and damaged one\nelectricity transmission network.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis disaster occurred when the area was hit by moderate to heavy\nrain. In addition to buildings, vital infrastructure such as\ncommunication towers and electricity grids were also affected,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>BNPB confirmed that, according to reports from the Klaten Regency\nRegional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the incident affected four\nvillages in the Delanggu and Polanharjo sub-districts.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the transmission infrastructure, officers recorded\nthat nine trees had fallen, temporarily disrupting road access and cable\nnetworks in the surrounding area.<\/p>\n<p>The impact of the damage also affected the economic and residential\nsectors, with two business premises reported to have been severely\ndamaged and two others lightly damaged.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a total of 16 residents\u2019 houses were recorded as having\nsuffered minor damage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough there was significant infrastructure damage, the BPBD\nreported that there were no casualties in this incident,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>To date, the BPBD Klaten rapid response team, along with related\nagencies and local residents, are still on the ground to carry out\nefforts to clean up debris and coordinate the repair of electricity and\ncommunication networks so that public services can return to normal.<\/p>\n<p>The BNPB appealed to the public to remain vigilant against the\npotential for hydrometeorological disasters triggered by extreme\nweather.<\/p>",
