        "content": "<p>The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has emphasised that\nthe activity level of Mount Anak Krakatau in the Sunda Strait remains at\nLevel III (Alert) due to the high probability of subsequent\neruptions.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in Jakarta on Friday, the Acting Head of the BNPB Disaster\nData, Information, and Communication Centre, Berton SP Panjaitan, stated\nthat this status is based on a comprehensive analysis by the Geological\nAgency regarding the volcanic dynamics of Mount Anak Krakatau.<\/p>\n<p>Berton explained that although the period of continuous eruption that\nlasted for 25 hours since 4 September has ended, Mount Anak Krakatau has\nnow transitioned into an episodic Strombolian eruption phase, with 14\ninstances recorded up until Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>From the evaluation of seismicity, while shallow volcanic earthquakes\nhave been observed to decrease, deep volcanic earthquakes have actually\nincreased, indicating that the supply of magma from depth is still\nongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Observations conducted on 10-11 September 2026 recorded one eruption\nearthquake, 21 low-frequency earthquakes, 13 hybrid earthquakes, 28\nshallow volcanic earthquakes, 18 deep volcanic earthquakes, and\ncontinuous tremors.<\/p>\n<p>The hazards that the public must remain vigilant against currently\ninclude the projection of incandescent rocks, heavy ashfall, and the\npotential for lava flows should continuous eruptions resume.<\/p>\n<p>In consideration of the Level III Alert status, the BNPB reminds the\npublic, tourists, and climbers that all activities within a 3-kilometre\nsafety radius from the active crater are strictly prohibited.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the BNPB has urged residents in the coastal areas of\nBanten and Lampung to remain calm, continue their normal activities, and\ndisregard tsunami rumours associated with the eruption of Mount Anak\nKrakatau unless they originate from official government channels.<\/p>",
