The National Narcotics Board (BNN) has uncovered numerous narcotics\ncases during \u2018Operation Sapu Bersih\u2019 (Saber) across various regions in\nIndonesia. In this operation, a total of 31 suspects were arrested, with\nthe seized narcotics having an estimated economic value of Rp 211.4\nbillion.<\/p>\n

Acting Deputy for Eradication at BNN, Brigadier General Roy Hardi\nSiahaan, stated that this breakthrough was the result of collaboration\nwith the police, Customs, and other agencies. The operations were\nconducted in North Sumatra, East Kalimantan, Jakarta, West Sumatra,\nAceh, Sulawesi, East Java, Riau, and the Riau Islands.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have successfully seized evidence that could potentially protect\n353,312 lives from drug abuse. In terms of public economic impact, the\nvalue is approximately Rp 211.4 billion,\u201d said Roy during a press\nconference at the BNN Office in Cawang, Jakarta, on Tuesday\n(19\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n

During Operation Saber, the BNN seized evidence including 136.5 kg of\nmethamphetamine (sabu), 147 kg of cannabis, 1,260 ml of etomidate, 1,029\ngrams of ketamine, and 6,681 ecstasy pills.<\/p>\n

  1. Aceh-Bogor Methamphetamine Network<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The BNN uncovered a methamphetamine network operating between Aceh\nand Bogor, seizing 29 kg of the drug. On Tuesday (19\/5) at approximately\n04:30 WIB, officers intercepted three suspects (TA, Y, and I) at a\nminimarket parking lot in Parung Panjang, Bogor. The drugs, disguised in\ngreen Chinese tea packaging, were being transported from Langsa, Aceh,\nto the Greater Jakarta area via land routes and the Bakauheni-Merak\nferry crossing.<\/p>\n

    1. Labuhanbatu Drug Bust<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Responding to local concerns regarding drug circulation in Aek\nKanopan Timur, Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra, the BNN conducted\ninvestigations that identified a controller known as WW, who is\ncurrently on the most wanted list (DPO). One perpetrator, RT, was\napprehended, and 0.90 grams of methamphetamine were seized.<\/p>\n

        The BNN dismantled the network of fugitive Faturahman in East\nKalimantan on 7 May 2026. Officers arrested four individuals (IP, RA,\nRM, and MA) and seized approximately 92.1 kg of methamphetamine, along\nwith 1,000 vape cartridges containing etomidate. The suspects used two\nvehicles, one acting as an escort and the other transporting the\nnarcotics hidden in suitcases and plastic-lined boxes.<\/p>\n

        1. Golden Triangle Network<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          The BNN, alongside Customs, uncovered a transnational network using\nexpedition services and \u2018flying couriers\u2019 to distribute drugs. In one\ninstance, 10 packages of methamphetamine originating from Laos were\nintercepted in Cengkareng, West Jakarta, sent using fictitious\nidentities. Additionally, two couriers (AA and DN) were arrested at\nSoekarno-Hatta Airport carrying 3.986 grams of methamphetamine intended\nfor Lombok. Another operation in Central Jakarta led to the seizure of\n7.159 grams of methamphetamine being repackaged in a hotel room,\nallegedly controlled by fugitive KB, intended for distribution in\nKendari, Southeast Sulawesi. Total methamphetamine seized from these\ntransnational operations amounted to approximately 13 kg.<\/p>\n
