Indonesia's National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has emphasised the need for robust commitment from all parties, including community organisations, to realise a drug-free Indonesia. This commitment was recently demonstrated through the signing of cooperation agreements with the Indonesian Anti-Drug Activists (PANI) and Gaharu Nusantara Bersinar (GNB), focusing on prevention, education, early detection, and community empowerment against narcotics abuse. The collaboration aims to foster sustained synergy between government and society, enhancing public resilience to drug threats and promoting concrete actions beyond mere formalities.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s National Narcotics Agency (BNN) states
that strong commitment from all parties, including community
organisations, is required to achieve the common goal of a drug-free
Indonesia. “All elements are expected to move with one vision, one
mission, and one goal in realising a drug-free Indonesia,” said Acting
Deputy for Community Empowerment of BNN RI, Edi Swasono, in a statement
confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday. Therefore, BNN continues to strengthen
collaboration with various community elements in efforts to Prevent and
Eradicate the Misuse and Illicit Trafficking of Narcotics (P4GN). This
commitment was recently manifested through the signing of cooperation
agreements with the Indonesian Anti-Drug Activists (PANI) and Gaharu
Nusantara Bersinar (GNB) in Jakarta on Thursday (30/4). The signing was
conducted by Edi Swasono together with PANI General Chairman Dedi
Ginanjar and GNB General Chairman Vernando Ricardo. The cooperation
serves as a concrete step in strengthening community participation to
create an environment free from narcotics. Edi explained that the
cooperation is a strategic step that must be implemented in a real and
sustainable manner. “This cooperation becomes the initial foundation in
realising a Shining Indonesia. The agreement must not stop at ceremonial
events but must be realised through real actions,” he said. He also
emphasised the importance of shared vision and solid synergy among
parties. The scope of the cooperation includes the implementation of
P4GN socialisation and education, early detection of narcotics abuse
through urine tests, the formation and coaching of anti-narcotics
activists, and the involvement of task forces in handling
narcotics-prone areas. Through this cooperation, BNN hopes to build
stronger synergy between the government and the community in expanding
the reach of education and increasing community resilience to narcotics
threats. The collaboration is expected to drive a sustainable joint
movement in realising a drug-free Indonesia. Meanwhile, PANI General
Chairman Dedi Ginanjar stated that the signing of the cooperation
agreement is an important moment that has long been awaited. Thus, it is
said that this is an achievement for PANI after going through a long
process to establish cooperation with BNN. “We are fully committed to
implementing the P4GN programme and supporting the realisation of a
Shining Indonesia,” said Dedi. GNB Chairman Vernando Ricardo also
expressed appreciation for the trust given and affirmed his
organisation’s readiness to contribute concretely. “We thank you for
this opportunity. This cooperation must maintain its integrity and be
implemented concretely,” said Vernando. He emphasised that all GNB
members are also encouraged to conduct early detection and maintain
commitment, as small things like cigarettes can become gateways to
narcotics abuse.
",
