Jakarta \u2014 Indonesia\u2019s National Narcotics Agency (BNN) destroyed 34.21\nkilogrammes of seized narcotics evidence in Jakarta on Tuesday,\npotentially saving 147,340 lives.<\/p>\n
Acting Deputy for Narcotics Eradication at BNN RI, Brigadier General\nRoy Hardi, stated that the narcotics evidence came from the\ninvestigation of nine cases involving 13 suspects.<\/p>\n
\u201cVarious types of narcotics were involved, including methamphetamine,\necstasy, and mephedrone, which we had seized and destroyed,\u201d said\nBrigadier General Roy during the evidence destruction press\nconference.<\/p>\n
He detailed the destroyed narcotics as comprising 27.73 kg of\nmethamphetamine; 1.83 kg of ecstasy (3,916 tablets); 0.64 kg of solid\nmephedrone; 7,247 millilitres of liquid mephedrone; 24,722 millilitres\nof liquid precursor; 4 kg of solid chemical; and 198,129 millilitres of\nliquid chemical.<\/p>\n
Prior to destruction, some evidence was retained for laboratory\ntesting: 192 grammes of methamphetamine; 77.6 grammes of ecstasy (164\ntablets); 0.4 grammes of solid mephedrone; 3 millilitres of liquid\nmephedrone; 3 millilitres of liquid precursor; 0.5 grammes of solid\nchemical; and 528 millilitres of liquid chemical.<\/p>\n
Roy explained that the nine uncovered cases fell into three\ncategories: parcel senders entering customs checkpoints, \u201cflying\ncouriers\u201d apprehended at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, and a clandestine\nnarcotics laboratory in Bali.<\/p>\n
In the first category, Narcotics Case Report (LKN)\/0006 originated\nfrom Customs officers at Pasar Baru, Jakarta, on 18 February 2026, when\na suspicious parcel was discovered containing MDMA (ecstasy). Officers\nconducted controlled delivery surveillance to an address in Kampung\nCibatu, Cikarang, where a suspect with initials AZ was arrested whilst\ncollecting a package containing six plastic bundles of ecstasy.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom interrogation, the suspect admitted he was instructed by a\nforeign national with initials AFAM, believed to be part of an\ninternational network,\u201d Roy stated.<\/p>\n
The second category involved seven cases (LKN\/0007 through LKN\/0013)\nat Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Banten, between 21 February and 4 March 2026,\nresulting in seizure of methamphetamine. Ten suspects with initials SF,\nJF, BK, MA, MS, MB, RM, JZ, MN, and SF were detained.<\/p>\n
The third category (LKN\/0014-P2) involved a joint BNN, Customs, and\nImmigration operation that dismantled a clandestine narcotics laboratory\noperated by a Russian national in Gianyar, Bali. The operation,\nconducted on 5\u20136 March 2026, began with suspicious packages from China\nsent to the Gianyar Post Office in January using fraudulent data.
