        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 Indonesia\u2019s National Narcotics Board (BNN) has conducted\nthe destruction of narcotics evidence totalling 34.21 kilograms obtained\nfrom the investigation of nine cases at airports and a clandestine drug\nlaboratory in Bali and Jakarta, Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Deputy for Drug Enforcement at BNN, Brigadier General Roy\nHardi Siahaan, stated that the investigation involved nine cases with 13\nsuspects. \u201cThe actions undertaken by the BNN team represent the\nIndonesian government\u2019s commitment to combating drug trafficking\nthroughout the country, both through air routes and borders, given the\nincreasingly complex modus operandi of international drug networks\nentering Indonesia,\u201d said Brigadier General Roy at a press conference\nregarding the destruction of the narcotics evidence.<\/p>\n<p>He detailed the evidence destroyed, comprising 27.73 kilograms of\nmethamphetamine; 1.83 kilograms of ecstasy (3,916 tablets); 0.64\nkilograms of solid mephedrone; 7,247 millilitres of liquid mephedrone;\n24,722 millilitres of liquid precursor; 4 kilograms of solid chemical\nsubstances; and 198,129 millilitres of liquid chemical substances.<\/p>\n<p>Roy stated that the evidence destroyed by BNN was largely obtained\nthrough detection at air routes coordinated by the BNN team with Customs\nand Excise officials at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Banten. From the\noperation, 11 individuals were apprehended whilst transporting\nmethamphetamine from Sumatra Island to eastern Indonesia regions\nincluding Lombok and Sulawesi.<\/p>\n<p>Roy noted that BNN continues to implement various prevention and\nenforcement efforts to create a society free from narcotics influence.\nIn this regard, BNN has appealed to all segments of society to actively\nparticipate in combating drugs, starting from protecting the family and\ncommunity environment, supporting anti-narcotics education programmes,\nand reporting any indication of drug abuse and illegal trafficking\nthrough official channels, including contacting the emergency hotline\n184.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, with public participation, the war against drugs\nwill be more effective, advancing towards a Drug-Free Indonesia\n(Bersinar).<\/p>",
