The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Indonesia considers it\nnecessary to strengthen regulation of the circulation of electronic\ncigarettes, also known as vapes.<\/p>\n
Head of BNN, Police Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto,\nhighlighted the increasing misuse of electronic cigarettes containing\nnarcotics such as etomidate and ketamine.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn addition, there has also been the uncovering of a clandestine\nlaboratory threat in Bali and the seizure of 3.37 tonnes of cannabinoid\nbuds in Gresik, which are suspected to be processed into vape liquid,\u201d\nsaid Commissioner General Suyudi in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on\nSaturday.<\/p>\n
This situation is considered a serious threat to the younger\ngeneration, so comprehensive handling measures are needed through\nstrengthening prevention, eradication, and rehabilitation aspects.<\/p>\n
In the field of prevention, BNN continues to develop strategic\nprogrammes such as the Gerakan Ananda Bersinar and the Anti-Narcotics\nCurriculum Integration (IKAN) to build children\u2019s resilience from an\nearly age while also producing peer-to-peer educators.<\/p>\n
In addition, BNN affirmed its commitment to expanding rehabilitation\nservices through Rehabilitation Centres and Compulsory Reporting\nRecipient Institutions (IPWL) with medical, social, and skills training\napproaches so that former abusers can return to being productive members\nof society.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday (29\/7), BNN held an audience with the Expert Staff of\nthe Presidential Staff Office (KSP) in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
On that occasion, the KSP Expert Staff expressed appreciation for the\nvarious strategic measures taken by BNN.<\/p>\n
As the President\u2019s delivery unit or special team, KSP stated its\ncommitment to overseeing the implementation of national priority\nprogrammes, encouraging the strengthening of narcotics countermeasure\nregulations, integrating BNN\u2019s flagship programmes into the monitoring\nand evaluation system (SISMONEV), and bridging BNN\u2019s strategic needs,\nincluding institutional strengthening and budget support.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the optimisation of the National Narcotics Crime\nCountermeasure Desk, strengthening the role of regional governments\ntowards District\/City BNN, and expanding the implementation of the Desa\nBersinar programme.<\/p>\n
