Jakarta (ANTARA) - Public policy analyst Trubus Rahadiansyah of\nUniversitas Trisakti has assessed that the move by the board of\ndirectors of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, to report\nsuspected irregularities in the distribution of People\u2019s Business Credit\n(KUR) in Jember demonstrates the bank\u2019s commitment to transparency and\naccountability.<\/p>\n
In a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday, Trubus said the\ndecision to disclose the suspected irregularity to law enforcement was a\npositive step, as it shows that the company\u2019s internal oversight\nfunction is working.<\/p>\n

Trubus considered these actions to reflect positively on BNI\u2019s\nefforts to improve governance and maintain the quality of services to\nthe public.<\/p>\n
He added that handling those suspected of wrongdoing remains the\nauthority of law enforcement, through examination based on facts and\nevidence.<\/p>\n
However, he said, an institution\u2019s steps in uncovering\nirregularities, taking action against individuals, reporting the case,\nand strengthening the oversight system should be placed in\nproportion.<\/p>\n
According to Trubus, these efforts demonstrate the intention of BNI\u2019s\nboard of directors to keep KUR distribution accountable and on\ntarget.<\/p>\n
Previously, BNI stated that the report on the suspected irregularity\nin KUR distribution in Jember had been submitted by the company since\n2024.<\/p>\n
