Jakarta \u2013 PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, has\nincreased its credit facilities to PT Pegadaian by 10 trillion rupiah,\nbringing the total financing extended to 25.1 trillion rupiah.<\/p>\n
The bank stated that the credit facility is part of its efforts to\nstrengthen the national financial services ecosystem whilst expanding\naccess to financing for the public.<\/p>\n
Abu Santosa Sudrajat, Director of Treasury & International\nBanking at BNI, said in a written statement received in Jakarta on\nMonday that this expansion of cooperation represents a strategic step to\nstrengthen collaboration between the two companies in supporting the\ndevelopment of the national financing ecosystem.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith each company\u2019s respective background and strengths, we can work\ntogether to provide broader access to financing and respond to evolving\nmarket needs,\u201d Abu said.<\/p>\n
Abu added that Pegadaian holds a strategic position as a state-owned\npawn-broking company and the industry leader in pawn-broking in\nIndonesia. This makes the collaboration between the two institutions\ncapable of creating stronger synergies in expanding access to\nfinancing.<\/p>\n
\u201cPegadaian has a very strong position as a government pawn-broking\ncompany and the industry leader in pawn-broking in Indonesia, so we are\nconfident that this collaboration can provide added value for both\nparties,\u201d Abu stated.<\/p>\n
