Director of Human Capital & Compliance at PT Bank Negara\nIndonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI), Munadi Herlambang, explained that the\nbank has completed the refund of funds to the customers of the Credit\nUnion (CU) Paroki Aek Nabara in North Sumatra, amounting to Rp\n28,257,360,600, or approximately Rp 28.26 billion.<\/p>\n
BNI, according to Munadi, has transferred Rp 21,257,360,600 to CU\nParoki Aek Nabara. This amount supplements the previous refund of Rp 7\nbillion.<\/p>\n
\u201cThus, the total funds refunded reach Rp 28,257,360,600, completing\nthe refund process,\u201d said Munadi in Jakarta on Wednesday, 22 April 2026,\nquoted from Antara.<\/p>\n
Munadi also conveyed an apology on behalf of BNI to the public,\nparticularly the Catholic community and all members of CU Paroki Aek\nNabara, for the anxiety and impact caused by this incident. BNI also\nexpressed gratitude for the patience and cooperation from all parties\nduring this process.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe understand the concerns and impacts felt by those affected by\nthis incident,\u201d Munadi stated. \u201cWith the completion of this fund refund,\nwe hope public trust can continue to be maintained, serving as a\ncollective lesson for all parties.\u201d<\/p>\n
Furthermore, BNI views this process as a joint effort to resolve the\nissue properly. \u201cOur focus is to ensure the resolution proceeds smoothly\nand provides certainty for all parties,\u201d Munadi said.<\/p>\n
BNI noted that the issue was resolved faster than the initial plan.\nPreviously, BNI had targeted the fund refund to be completed by Friday,\n24 April 2026. However, it was finalised earlier on Wednesday. \u201cBNI will\ncontinue to commit to providing the best services for the Indonesian\npeople,\u201d Munadi added.<\/p>\n
Previously, BNI President Director Putrama Wahju Setyawan had assured\nthat the funds of CU Paroki Aek Nabara customers, allegedly embezzled by\nrogue bank employees, would be refunded on that day. This was stated\nafter meeting with Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of\nRepresentatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad at the Senayan Parliamentary Complex\nin Jakarta on Tuesday. The meeting was also attended by the Treasurer of\nCU Paroki Aek Nabara, Sister Natalia Situmorang.<\/p>\n
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) had previously summoned BNI\u2019s\ndirectors and management to request explanations and emphasised that\nresolution steps should be carried out quickly, comprehensively,\ntransparently, and responsibly.
