BNI and Open University Collaborate to Strengthen Digitalisation of\nResearch Funding<\/p>\n
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or\nBNI, is expanding its strategic partnership with Open University (UT)\nthrough the implementation of a digital-based research fund management\nsystem within the Campus Financial Ecosystem framework. This\ncollaboration was marked by the signing of an agreement for the use of\nBNI Virtual Account Debit for Research Funds in Jakarta, Tuesday\n(24\/2).<\/p>\n
Present at the event were UT\u2019s Vice-Rector for Research, Cooperation\nand Business, Hendrian; Head of the Institute for Research and Community\nService, UT, Dewi Artati Padmo Putri; Head of Institutional Banking\nDivision 2, BNI, Donny Chairuman; and Head of Wholesale Transaction and\nValue Chain Division, BNI, I Gede Widya Anantayoga, along with their\nrespective teams.<\/p>\n
This collaboration enables research funds to be managed centrally,\ndigitally, and recorded in real-time, thereby increasing transparency\nand accountability in the implementation of research and community\nservice.<\/p>\n
BNI\u2019s Director of Institutional Affairs, Eko Setyo Nugroho, said that\nthis step is part of BNI\u2019s strategy to expand the penetration of\nintegrated financial services in the education sector.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis collaboration is a manifestation of BNI\u2019s commitment to\nsupporting digital transformation in the national education sector,\nwhile also providing a more transparent, secure, and accountable fund\nmanagement solution,\u201d said Eko in a written statement quoted on\nWednesday (25\/2\/2026).<\/p>\n
According to him, the digitalisation of research fund management is\nan important need for educational institutions with a large scale and\nhigh complexity of academic activities. Through a Virtual Account\nDebit-based system, each transaction can be monitored directly and\ndocumented systematically.<\/p>\n
UT, as a state university with an open and distance learning system,\nhas more than 768,000 active students spread across Indonesia and\nabroad. This scale of operation is considered to require support from an\nefficient and integrated financial system.<\/p>\n
\u201cBNI sees that strengthening this collaboration not only improves the\nquality of academic fund governance but also opens up opportunities for\nthe development of integrated financial services in the higher education\nenvironment, including the optimisation of digital transactions, the\nmanagement of institutional funds, and technology-based payment\nsolutions,\u201d Eko concluded.<\/p>\n
