The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has urged\nthe public to be alert to the potential for light-intensity rain in\nseveral major cities in western Indonesia on Saturday.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor western Indonesia, be alert to the potential for light rain in\nMedan, Padang, and Tanjung Selor,\u201d said BMKG forecaster Henokhvita in a\nweather forecast broadcast in Jakarta on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Despite the light rain warning, BMKG predicts that most other cities\nin western Indonesia will be dominated by partly cloudy to heavily\novercast conditions.<\/p>\n
Henokhvita mentioned that the potential for cloudy weather is likely\nto cover the areas of Banda Aceh, Tanjung Pinang, Bengkulu, Pangkal\nPinang, most of Java, and Samarinda.<\/p>\n
In addition to cloud cover and rainfall, BMKG also predicts the\npotential for haze in Pekanbaru, Jambi, Palembang, Pontianak, and\nPalangkaraya, as well as the potential for smoke or fog in Bandar\nLampung and Banjarmasin.<\/p>\n
\u201cMoving to eastern Indonesia, be alert to the potential for moderate\nrain in Nabire, then the potential for light rain in Mamuju, Jayapura,\nJayawijaya, and Merauke,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to heavily overcast conditions are predicted\nto dominate other eastern regions, including Denpasar, Mataram, Kupang,\nMakassar, Kendari, Palu, Gorontalo, Manado, Ternate, and Manokwari.<\/p>\n
