Merpati Airlines service<\/p>\n
As a frequent Merpati flyer to Bandar Lampung, I fully agree
\nwith Vatsala S. that Merpati's ground staff deserve praise and
\ncompliments (\"Kudos to Merpati\", The Jakarta Post dated April 6).<\/p>\n
As far as Merpati Airlines itself is concerned, however, my
\nexperiences with them over the years more often than not have
\nbeen exercises in sheer frustration.<\/p>\n
To start with, shuttle flights to and from Jakarta are rarely
\non time, and both flight schedules and frequencies are changed
\nmore often than I care to remember.<\/p>\n
For whatever reason, Merpati is the only airline that serves
\nthe Jakarta - Bandar Lampung route, and it is not surprising that
\nits twice-daily flights are invariably fully booked.<\/p>\n
Although I have yet to receive any information regarding my
\n\"easy flyer\" points accumulated over the years, I would
\nnevertheless appreciate it if Merpati would at least stop
\naddressing its long suffering passengers as \"Dear Customers\", or
\nPelanggan yang terhormat.
