Blueprint for stock mart<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The Capital Market Supervisory Agency is
\nscheduled to announce today a five-year stock market development
\nblueprint.<\/p>\n
The agency's chairman, I Gede Putu Ary Suta, said yesterday
\nthat the blueprint will cover all strategies to develop local
\ncapital markets within the next five years.<\/p>\n
\"Maybe some parties consider the presence of this blueprint as
\ntoo late. However, it is important to note that we have tried our
\nbest to initiate the drafting of this blueprint to implement the
\n1995 capital market law,\" Putu announced after speaking at a
\nseminar.<\/p>\n
He explained that the blueprint is aimed at encouraging
\nsecurities companies to invest in the infrastructure to better
\nserve their customers.<\/p>\n
The blueprint is also to encourage securities firms to provide
\nservices with a high level of security to build investors'
\nconfidence in the local stock exchanges.<\/p>\n
In addition, it is to ensure that all parties on the stock
\nexchanges, especially the share issuers, comply with the
\nprinciples of disclosure.<\/p>\n
It is also to ensure consistent law enforcement on capital
\nmarket rules to protect investors and those who are actively
\ninvolved in stock market-related activities. (rid)<\/p>",
