A clash triggered by \u2018protection money\u2019 quotas on Jalan Raden Fatah,\nWest Sudimara Village, Ciledug District, Tangerang City, has resulted in\ninjuries. Two suspects have been arrested, while three others are still\nbeing pursued by police.<\/p>\n
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit at the Tangerang City Metro\nPolice, AKBP Parikhesit, stated that the two individuals taken into\ncustody are MSS, also known as Bule, and Panji, also known as Qbenk.<\/p>\n
\u2018MSS alias Bule is suspected of participating in the machete attack\non the victim. Meanwhile, Panji alias Qbenk is suspected of helping to\ntransport one of the perpetrators to the hospital after the incident,\u2019\nParikhesit said in a statement on Friday (3\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n
During a search of one suspect\u2019s residence, officers discovered a\nmachete sheath. At another location, sandals with bloodstains were found\nand are currently undergoing further examination. Police also seized a\nmachete discovered at the scene of the crime as evidence.<\/p>\n
Three Suspects Still at Large<\/p>\n
Police are continuing to develop the case. Three individuals believed\nto be involved in the attack on the fruit traders are still being\npursued, identified as ZI alias Udin, Fajar, and Angki.<\/p>\n
\u2018Examinations of the victims and the detained parties will be\nconducted once their health conditions permit. The investigation is\nongoing to uncover all perpetrators involved,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n
Motive for the Attack<\/p>\n
The attack occurred on Wednesday night (1\/7). It began when a man\nwith the initials ZI, also known as Udin, approached the stalls of\nwatermelon and melon traders demanding a payment of Rp 10,000 per\nday.<\/p>\n
\u2018The demand was rejected by the traders. He then left, but returned\nshortly afterwards carrying a sharp weapon and bringing several of his\nassociates,\u2019 Parikhesit said.<\/p>\n
The perpetrator initially arrived with around six people and\nchallenged the traders. After being outnumbered in the first clash, the\ngroup returned with approximately ten more people, also armed with sharp\nweapons.<\/p>\n
\u2018The group then launched an attack, resulting in a brawl that left\nseveral people with slash wounds,\u2019 he stated.<\/p>\n
Three traders sustained serious injuries in the incident.\nAdditionally, two members of the attacking group were also injured.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner\nRaden Muhammad Jauhari, urged the public not to resolve issues through\nviolence or vigilante actions.<\/p>\n
\u2018We urge the entire community to maintain a conducive security and\npublic order situation. If you experience premanism, extortion, or other\ncriminal acts, immediately report them to the police via the 110 service\nor the nearest police station. We will take firm action against any acts\nof premanism that disturb the community in accordance with applicable\nlegal provisions,\u2019 Jauhari said.<\/p>\n
