        "content": "<p>The government is preparing an update to the business licensing\nsystem through the Online Single Submission (OSS), which will be\nintegrated with various ministries and agencies. The new generation\nsystem is planned to be based on artificial intelligence (AI) and\nblockchain, and is targeted to operate starting in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Investment Minister and BKPM Head, Rosan Roeslani, acknowledged that\nthe previous OSS system had encountered several issues in recent\nmonths.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is because we want to enhance the system to fully integrate\nwith 18 ministries,\u201d Rosan stated during a meeting with Commission XII\nof the DPR RI at the Senayan parliamentary complex on Monday (13\/4).<\/p>\n<p>OSS consists of three subsystems: the information service subsystem,\nthe business licensing subsystem, and the supervision subsystem. This\nintegration aligns with Government Regulation No.\u00a028 of 2025 on\nRisk-Based Business Licensing.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the system strengthening process was hampered by\nfunding aspects. The government has submitted the budget proposal for\nnearly a year, and it has now been approved and is entering the\ndisbursement stage.<\/p>\n<p>Rosan explained that cross-ministry integration presents its own\nchallenges because the OSS system must automatically connect with\nvarious previously separate licensing systems. However, if this\nintegration runs optimally, the licensing process is expected to become\nmuch faster and more efficient.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf this runs well, all licensing will be very fast. This will also\nreduce face-to-face meetings and negative potentials due to\nuncertainty,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In its latest version, OSS will adopt AI and blockchain technologies\nto improve the speed, transparency, and accountability of licensing\nservices. This digitalisation is also expected to cut bureaucracy and\nminimise undesirable practices in the licensing process.<\/p>\n<p>The government targets the implementation of the technology-based OSS\nsystem to begin this year in stages. With this update, the investment\nclimate in Indonesia is hoped to become more conducive and able to\nattract more business players, both domestic and foreign.<\/p>",
