The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming\/Investment Coordinating\nBoard (BKPM), in collaboration with PT Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial\nPark (IWIP), is strengthening partnerships between the corporate world\nand Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to increase capacity,\nexpand market access, and boost the competitiveness of local businesses\nin North Maluku.<\/p>\n
Investment and industrial developments in North Maluku are creating\nopportunities for local entrepreneurs to thrive. The presence of IWIP\nhas contributed to this growth, providing a positive impact on Central\nHalmahera and the wider North Maluku region, while creating space for\nlocal businesses to participate in the industrial ecosystem.<\/p>\n
This effort was realised through the Dissemination of National\nBusiness Partnership Policy for Investment, which brought together 16 of\nthe 160 participating MSMEs with IWIP and several industrial park\ntenants in Ternate, North Maluku, on Tuesday (1\/9).<\/p>\n
The event provided MSMEs with access to partnership opportunities,\nfinancing, and industrial supply chains through the introduction of\nbusiness profiles and capacities. The programme included a talk show\ntitled \u201cStrengthening the Ecosystem of Inclusive Partnership and\nFinancing for MSMEs,\u201d two business matching sessions, and an awards\nceremony for five MSME partners of IWIP.<\/p>\n
The event was opened by the Vice Governor of North Maluku, H. Sarbin\nSehe, and continued by the Special Staff to the Minister of Investment\nand Downstreaming\/Head of BKPM for the Acceleration of Downstreaming and\nEnhancement of National Entrepreneurs, Noor Sona Maesana Mushonnif.<\/p>\n
Vice Governor H. Sarbin Sehe stated that the North Maluku Provincial\nGovernment continues to open doors for responsible investment while\nencouraging the development of regional potential, including in the\nmarine, fishery, and plantation sectors. Investment growth is expected\nto provide broader benefits to the community and create more\nopportunities for local entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe government needs partners to collaborate in meeting regional\nneeds and creating better economic growth. We want the investments\ndeveloping in North Maluku to also open more opportunities for local\nentrepreneurs. We are also proud that the presence of IWIP has brought\nchange to Central Halmahera,\u201d said Sarbin Sehe.<\/p>\n
These partnership opportunities were discussed more concretely\nthrough two business matching sessions. IWIP and its tenants presented\ntheir requirements for work and the procurement of goods and services\nthrough the Scope of Work (SoW) and Bill of Quantities (BoQ). MSMEs were\ngiven the opportunity to introduce their profiles, products, capacities,\nand business readiness, while discussing procurement requirements\ndirectly.<\/p>\n
Special Staff to the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming\/Head of\nBKPM for the Acceleration of Downstreaming and Enhancement of National\nEntrepreneurs, Noor Sona Maesana Mushonnif, stated that the growth of\ndownstream industries must go hand-in-hand with the strengthening of\nnational and regional entrepreneurs. In the second quarter of 2026,\ninvestment realisation in North Maluku reached IDR 40.2 trillion,\npositioning the province as the third-largest investment location in\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough targeted partnerships, MSMEs not only gain market access but\nalso the opportunity to improve their standards, scale, and\ncompetitiveness. This meeting needs to progress into purchase orders and\ncooperation agreements so that local entrepreneurs can grow alongside\nexisting investments,\u201d said Noor Sona.<\/p>\n
The Director of Business Empowerment at the Ministry of\nInvestment\/BKPM, Delfinur Riz\u0447\u043d\u043e Rizky Novihamzah, added that\npartnerships must go beyond mere commitments. The government is\nencouraging large business needs to be matched with potential local\nvendors who possess the necessary legality and business readiness,\nensuring that the partnership process can be realised, monitored, and\nsupervised. Collaboration between central and regional governments,\nassociations, and the business world is vital to expanding MSME access\nto these opportunities.<\/p>\n
IWIP\u2019s General Manager of External Relations, Yudhi Santoso, stated\nthat opportunities for local businesses remain open to meet various\nneeds within the IWIP and tenant supply chains, ranging from food\nsupplies, workwear, and operational needs to logistics and transport. In\nthe second quarter of 2026, IWIP\u2019s procurement realisation for MSMEs\nreached IDR 1.1 trillion, with 77.6 percent of IWIP\u2019s spending occurring\nwithin North Maluku.<\/p>\n
\u201cIWIP wants more local MSMEs to be ready to enter and remain within\nthe industrial supply chain. We are opening channels for communication\nand cooperation, while encouraging businesses to strengthen their\nlegality, quality consistency, competitive pricing, punctuality, and\nservice. These aspects are the foundation for long-term partnership\ngrowth,\u201d said Yudhi.<\/p>\n
As a form of appreciation for partners that have grown alongside the\ncompany, IWIP presented awards to PT Bangun Bumi Mahera as the Most\nImproved MSME Supplier, CV Sritimas Agro Silvae as the Best Responsive\nSupplier, CV Satu Tiga Berjaya as the Best Performing MSME Supplier, CV\nSemarak as the recipient of the Best Local Community Impact Award, and\nCV Abadi Jaya as the recipient of the Best Quality & Reliability\nAward.<\/p>\n
Suhendra Sutjahja, President Director of CV Satu Tiga Berjaya\u2014an IWIP\npartner in meat and seafood supply\u2014shared his experience building a\nbusiness from a small-scale supplier to meeting the company\u2019s\nrequirements. He noted that maintaining quality, meeting requirements,\nand continuously improving governance are essential parts of maintaining\na partnership.<\/p>\n
\u201cPartnering with IWIP has been a learning process for us to work more\norganised, maintain quality, meet schedules, and improve business\nadministration. Such opportunities provide market access while\nencouraging us to continuously enhance our ability to meet industrial\nneeds,\u201d said Suhendra.<\/p>\n
