        "content": "<p>Kupang \u2014 The National Marine Conservation Authority (BKKPN) Kupang\nhas sent a team to identify multiple marine mammals, specifically\nwhales, that have stranded on Mbadokai Beach, Deranitan Village, South\nWest Rote District, Rote Ndao Regency, East Nusa Tenggara.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have already dispatched a team to the location to identify the\nwhales,\u201d said BKKPN Kupang Head Imam Fauzi in Kupang, East Nusa\nTenggara, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>This statement was made following reports of multiple stranded whales\nof uncertain number that have washed ashore in Rote Ndao waters since\nMonday, 9 March.<\/p>\n<p>The stranded whales have become a spectacle for local residents in\nthe area, attracting significant public attention.<\/p>\n<p>Based on initial reports received from Rote Ndao Naval Base (Lanal),\nthe number of stranded whales reached 50. However, according to Imam,\nthis figure is unlikely to be accurate.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, he continued, 11 whales have been found already dead,\nstranded on the beach. Several others remain alive but in critical\ncondition due to injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the cause of the whale strandings, Imam stated that the\ncause remains unknown, but BKKPN has requested assistance from a\nveterinarian in Rote Ndao to perform a necropsy to identify the\nunderlying cause.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt this time, the exact cause of why so many whales have stranded\nremains unknown,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
