Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Social Affairs has explained that\nchanges in the decile status for some social assistance (bansos)\nrecipients have been triggered by the process of consolidation,\nverification, and re-verification of the latest data received from BKKBN\nand the BPS Socio-Economic Census.<\/p>\n
Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf stated in Jakarta on\nWednesday that the updating of national data is currently undergoing\nintensive processing at the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) to\nproduce more accurate poverty alleviation data.<\/p>\n
\u201cRecently, new data arrived from BKKBN that requires synchronisation,\nvalidation, and re-verification. This is currently being handled by BPS,\nwhich will eventually be integrated with the latest data from the\nsocio-economic census,\u201d said the Minister, popularly known as Gus\nIMB.<\/p>\n
He explained that this integrated data consolidation step is in\naccordance with the directives of President Prabowo Subianto through\nPresidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 4 of 2025 regarding the\nAcceleration of Extreme Poverty Eradication, which mandates BPS to serve\nas the processing and verification centre for the National Single\nSocio-Economic Data (DTSEN).<\/p>\n
Deciles are used as a ranking system to determine the socio-economic\ncondition of a family. Deciles 1-5 represent poor to\nvulnerable-to-poverty families, 6-8 represent middle-income families,\nand 9-10 represent the upper class or wealthy.<\/p>\n
Families within deciles 1-5 are the categories eligible for\ngovernment intervention programmes, including social assistance ranging\nfrom the Family Hope Program (PKH), health insurance, basic food\nassistance (sembako), education, and more.<\/p>\n
To ensure transparency and the accuracy of the decile data for social\nassistance recipients, the government has opened two channels for daily\npublic participation in the updating process.<\/p>\n
The first is the formal channel, where data proposals and corrections\nare made at the village level through the SIK-NG application operator,\nthen forwarded through various levels to the Regency\/City Social\nServices, Province, Ministry of Social Affairs, and finally to BPS.<\/p>\n
The second is the public participation channel, which allows for\ncommunity complaints through the Command Centre, WhatsApp centre, and\nthe \u2018usul-sanggah\u2019 (propose-rebut) feature within the Ministry of Social\nAffairs\u2019 Cek Bansos application.<\/p>\n
He explained that the updating of data determining social assistance\neligibility is conducted periodically: every month for BPJS Health\nContribution Recipient (PBI) beneficiaries, and every three months for\nthe Family Hope Program (PKH) and Basic Food Assistance.<\/p>\n
